Records

Records

Records are pieces of data stored on the blockchain that someone can find using your name.

Usually, a record is a blockchain address you get when you search for a name. You can also store text information to enhance your social presence.

Addresses

Addresses are essential for linking a name to a blockchain address. In the future, we plan to allow the linking of identities across different blockchains by storing multiple addresses.

Texts

To boost your social presence, you can add usernames, links to social profiles, and a website. This social information is quickly accessible on the profile tab.

Content Hash

Content Hash allows storing IPFS and Swarm content hashes. This makes it possible to link .vet-name to content (like websites) on these networks.

We aim to provide a public link in the future that will directly access these content hashes.

ABI

ABIs are crucial metadata for interacting with contracts. Currently, they are often provided separately, making it harder to interact with contracts, especially for one-time transactions or when the ABI changes. Storing ABIs on the blockchain offers a simpler way to find them using the same process as name lookup.

Test

You can check your primary name and Vechain record setup at https://vet.domains/lookup (opens in a new tab) Type in the name or the address to see the data visible to apps.

For other settings, go to your profile page at https://vet.domains/{yourname}.vet
