Web2-Domains

💡

Web2-Domains are currently in development.

You can register a generic domain on the regular internet, if it's available. The registration is handled for you, and the ownership is associated with your .vet name.

Redirects

By default, your new domain will link to your profile on vet.domains. When you set up a Content Hash or a website through url text entries, your .vet-name will be forwarded to those.

Examples:

Nameserver

You can set your own nameservers in the Web-Domain section. Your domain will be updated to point to the new nameservers within a few minutes. Using custom nameservers will disable the profile managed redirects.

The change may take up to 24 hours to propagate across the internet, due to caching by some internet providers. You can verify the current setting at https://lookup.icann.org/ (opens in a new tab).

If you remove the nameservers, the default nameservers will be restored, and the redirect will be reactivated.

Records

The nameservers are stored in the _dns text record associated with your .vet name. Each name should be separated by a newline (\n).
